Oxycare are yellow sugar coated tablet containing as active ingredient either: 50 mg 100 mg or 250 mg Oxytetracycline Dihydrate.
Oxycare is used as an antibiotic for the treatment of dogs with bacterial infections sensitive to tetracycline therapy. Soft-tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus spp. have been shown to be highly sensitive. Respiratory infections caused by Bordetella bronchiseptica are also commonly sensitive.
Oxycare Dosage and administration
For oral administration. In dogs: Initial dose of 50 mg/kg body weight followed by 25 mg/kg body weight every 12 hours for 5 days e.g. a 20 kg dog will require 4�250 mg tablets then 2�250 mg tablets twice daily. To be taken by mouth at least one hour before or two hours after feeding.
