Cytopoint 40mg - Pack of 2 Vials

Cytopoint 40mg - Pack of 2 Vials

40mg Cytopoint (lokivetmab) is a monoclonal antibody injection designed to provide long-lasting relief from itching caused by atopic dermatitis in dogs. Unlike traditional treatments such as steroids or antihistamines, Cytopoint specifically targets and neutralises interleukin-31 (IL-31), a key protein responsible for triggering itching and inflammation in allergic skin conditions.

Each Cytopoint vial contains 40mg of lokivetmab and is administered as a subcutaneous injection by a veterinarian. The effects last for four to eight weeks, offering extended relief from symptoms. Cytopoint is a prescription medication and should only be used under veterinary supervision.

40mg Cytopoint is a refrigerated medication - We will send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery using insulated packaging and ice packs. A signature is required on delivery and it must be put straight into a fridge. We cannot guarantee same day dispatch for orders placed after 12pm. VETERINARY PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED.

Cytopoint is an innovative biological therapy that works differently from conventional allergy treatments. It contains a caninised monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to and neutralises interleukin-31 (IL-31), a cytokine involved in sending itch signals to the brain.

By blocking IL-31, Cytopoint prevents the itch response before it begins, reducing the need for dogs to scratch excessively. Unlike steroids or immunosuppressive drugs, which have a broad impact on the immune system, Cytopoint precisely targets the underlying cause of itching without disrupting other bodily functions.

This targeted approach allows Cytopoint to provide fast and effective relief while minimising the risk of side effects. The injection begins to work within 24 hours and can last for up to eight weeks, making it a convenient and well-tolerated option for dogs with chronic allergic skin conditions.

16mg Apoquel Tablets for Dogs – Targeted relief from itching

16mg Apoquel Tablets are prescription-only tablets for the control of acute and chronic pruritus in dogs. They are commonly prescribed for dogs with allergic skin disease, including atopic dermatitis, and are designed to reduce itch and inflammation so that the skin has a chance to recover.

Each 16mg tablet contains oclacitinib, an active ingredient that acts quickly on the pathways that trigger itching. This strength is usually used for medium to large dogs, according to the dosing regime set by the prescribing veterinary surgeon.

How 16mg Apoquel for Dogs works

Oclacitinib is a selective Janus kinase (JAK1) inhibitor. In simple terms, it interferes with specific chemical messengers (cytokines) that are involved in the itch and inflammation cycle of allergic skin disease. By blocking these signals, Apoquel helps to break the “itch–scratch” cycle that damages the skin.

16mg Apoquel targets cytokines such as those associated with allergy and pruritus, including the signals linked to the sensation of itch. It reduces both the urge to scratch and the associated redness and irritation of the skin. Apoquel 16mg has a rapid onset of action, and many dogs show a noticeable reduction in itching within a short period of starting treatment, often within the first day.

Because Apoquel works on specific pathways rather than suppressing the entire immune system, it offers more targeted control compared with some traditional therapies.
