Nutravet Nutracalm for Dogs

Nutracalm is a supplement in chew form designed to help manage fear, anxiety and stress in dogs. Nutracalm combines natural ingredients with amino acids and vitamins that support calm behaviour. It is suitable where dogs show signs of nervousness such as during loud noises, separation, travel or change of environment and in more chronic anxiety situations.

How Nutracalm Works

Nutracalm works by influencing the dog’s nervous system and brain chemistry using botanicals, amino acids and B-vitamins. Key active ingredients include:

  • Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) – This is a herb traditionally used to help regulate stress hormones such as cortisol, and to support balancing neurotransmitters associated with mood, such as serotonin and gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA).
  • Passiflora incarnata (Passion Flower) – It contains natural flavonoids that assist GABA receptor pathways and help to reduce tension.
  • L-Tryptophan – An essential amino acid which is a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter linked to mood regulation and lessening anxiety.
  • Taurine – An amino acid involved in neurotransmitter function, which works in concert with other calming agents.
  • B-Vitamins – Including Vitamin B6, B3, B1 and B12; these help maintain healthy neurotransmitter production and support both brain and overall metabolic function.

Nutracalm chews are formulated for relatively rapid onset. They include flavouring (such as hydrolysed chicken liver) to make administration easier. The chew form allows more straightforward dosing, especially for dogs who may refuse tablets or capsules.

Description

Fear & Anxiety in Dogs

Dogs may experience fear and anxiety in many situations. Common triggers include thunderstorms, fireworks, loud noises, separation from owners, travel, vet visits or new environments. Anxiety may be acute (short-lived) or chronic (persistent over time). Symptoms of anxiety or fear in dogs can include trembling, panting, pacing, drooling, hiding, barking, destructive behaviour, or soiling in the home.

Persistent anxiety can have physical effects: it may affect appetite, digestion or sleep. Over time, chronic stress can weaken immune function and reduce quality of life. Supporting a dog during fearful events or using aids to reduce baseline anxiety levels may improve welfare and behaviour.

Benefits of Nutracalm for Dogs

  • Provides support during acute stress events such as loud noises or travel.
  • Helps reduce baseline anxiety in dogs with chronic fear or nervous temperament.
  • May improve behaviour during vet visits, kennel stays or changes in household routines.
  • Supports calmer reactions to stimuli by promoting neurotransmitter balance.
  • Easier administration thanks to palatable chews; dogs are more likely to take them voluntarily.
  • Natural ingredients with fewer risks of sedative side-effects compared with some pharmaceutical options.

Usage Recommendations

Dosing of Nutracalm chews is determined by the weight of the dog. For example, smaller dogs require smaller fractions of a chew, larger breeds may require one or more full chews. Chews should be given ahead of known stress events e.g. one chew some time before fireworks or travel. For ongoing anxiety, they can be administered daily. Always follow the product-label instructions or veterinary guidance. Monitoring behaviour and adjusting timing or dose may be necessary for best effect.

Nutracalm is formulated with natural amino acids, botanicals and vitamins. It is generally safe when used according to directions. Dogs with certain medical conditions, or those already receiving other central nervous system medications, should use Nutracalm under veterinary supervision. Avoid exceeding the recommended daily dosage. Store chews in dry conditions, at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

KalmAid Tablets for Dogs and Cats

KalmAid Tablets are a nutritional supplement designed to help reduce stress and anxiety in both dogs and cats. They are often used to support calm and relaxed behaviour during times of unease or environmental change. KalmAid Tablets are easy to administer and can form part of a balanced approach to managing anxiety-related behaviour in pets.

KalmAid Tablets are commonly recommended for pets who experience nervousness, fear, or agitation caused by stressful events. These may include loud noises such as fireworks, thunderstorms, or traffic, as well as travel, vet visits, new environments, or separation from their owners. They can also assist pets that display general anxiety or overexcitability in daily life.

How KalmAid Tablets Work

KalmAid Tablets contain a blend of ingredients known to support the normal functioning of the nervous system and promote relaxation. The formula includes L-Tryptophan, L-Theanine, and Thiamine (Vitamin B1), each of which plays a key role in helping to maintain balanced behaviour and emotional stability in dogs and cats.

L-Tryptophan is an essential amino acid that acts as a natural precursor to serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, sleep, and emotional well-being. By supporting the production of serotonin, L-Tryptophan can help maintain calmness and reduce anxiety-related behaviours. Pets that have low serotonin levels may be more prone to agitation or restlessness, and supplementing with L-Tryptophan can help restore balance.

L-Theanine, another key amino acid, is derived from green tea. It is known for its ability to promote relaxation without causing drowsiness. L-Theanine supports the release of calming neurotransmitters in the brain, such as dopamine and GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), which help to reduce the body’s stress response. This allows pets to remain more composed during challenging or unfamiliar situations.

Thiamine (Vitamin B1) is vital for healthy nervous system function. A deficiency in Thiamine can lead to behavioural changes, including anxiety or confusion. By ensuring an adequate supply of Thiamine, KalmAid Tablets help maintain normal nerve activity and overall mental stability.

These ingredients provide natural support for pets prone to stress, helping them to cope with anxiety-inducing situations more effectively. KalmAid Tablets are non-sedative, meaning they do not make pets sleepy or lethargic, but instead promote a natural state of calm alertness.

Protexin SereniCare for Dogs and Cats - 30 Calming Sachets

Anxiety in pets can manifest in various forms, from mild uneasiness to severe stress, impacting their overall well-being. Conditions like separation anxiety, where pets exhibit distress and behaviour problems when separated from their owners, are common. Similarly, social fear from unfamiliar visitors and general anxiety can significantly affect a pet's life, leading to behavioural issues and a decline in health.

SereniCare for Dogs and Cats employs a unique blend of ingredients that work synergistically to alleviate stress and anxiety. The key ingredients are:

  1. Alpha-Casozepine (Hydrolysed Milk Protein): This natural bioactive peptide, derived from cow’s milk, is known for its calming and relaxing properties. It plays a crucial role in mitigating stress and promoting relaxation in pets.

  2. L-Tryptophan: This essential amino acid is the sole precursor to serotonin, often referred to as the 'happy hormone'. L-Tryptophan aids in maintaining a normal mood and behaviour in pets, contributing to their overall emotional well-being.

  3. Calming Postbiotic Blend: A combination of heat-treated Lactobacillus rhamnosus CECT8361 and Bifidobacterium longum CECT7347, these postbiotics help manage stress and anxiety-related behaviour in pets.

  4. Fibersol™: Acting as a prebiotic, this resistant maltodextrin promotes a healthy microbiome, essential for normal gut-brain communication and overall health.
