Description
Opticlox - For the treatment of eye infections in cattle, sheep, horses, dogs and cats
Opticlox Eye Ointment is a colourless, sterile ophthalmic suspension for topical administration into the eye containing cloxacillin 16.7% (as cloxacillin benzathine 21.3% w/w). The product is indicated for the treatment of eye infections in cattle, sheep, horses, dogs and cats caused by Staphylococcus spp. and Bacillus spp.
Opticlox Eye Ointment is a soothing, antibiotic ointment indicated for use in the treatment of eye infections in cattle, sheep, horses, dogs and cats caused by staphylococci and bacilli. Opticlox contains a high quality cloxacillin that has minimal systemic absorption. Opticlox can be safely administered to pregnant and lactating animals.
Opticlox is a broad-spectrum antibiotic for animals with bacterial eye infections characterized by swelling, redness and discharge. This antibacterial ointment combines the potency of two antibiotics in one blend – cloxacillin to fight gram-positive bacteria and the beta-lactamase resistant agent benzathine cloxacillin to address gram-negative bacteria. Cloxacillin is similar to penicillin and is rarely absorbed systemically, therefore it has no side effects such as diarrhoea.
