Description

The Calmex Diffuser Starter Kit provides the electrical plug-in unit and one 40ml bottle needed to begin using the Calmex home diffuser. It is intended for households with dogs or cats and uses a blend of rose, lavender and chamomile essential oils. The product is designed to contribute to a calm home environment alongside appropriate handling, training and veterinary advice. It is an essential-oil diffuser rather than a pheromone diffuser, and its contents are not intended for consumption.

The starter kit is the appropriate format when you do not already have a suitable Calmex plug-in unit. Once the initial bottle is empty, the matching Calmex Diffuser Refill can be purchased separately. The manufacturer states that a bottle lasts approximately 30 days and covers an area of up to 70m². Room layout and positioning still matter, so do not assume that one unit will reach every separate room in a home simply because the combined floor area falls within that figure.

Attach the bottle securely to the plug-in unit before connecting it to a suitable wall socket. The bottle must remain upright. The manufacturer specifically advises against extension leads, multisockets and adaptors. Choose a location where the pet spends time, while keeping the unit away from bedding, litter trays and food or water bowls. Follow all instructions supplied with the device, including any requirements for clearance. Keep the unit and refill inaccessible to children and pets that may interfere with them.

A diffuser works best within a considered routine rather than as the only response to distress. Dogs may need gradual training to feel comfortable when left alone, while cats often benefit from predictable access to quiet space and separate resources. Noise sensitivity may require changes to the room, a safe retreat and an individual veterinary plan. Avoid forcing contact or exposing the animal repeatedly to something it fears in the hope that the product will make it tolerate the experience.

Observe whether your pet is settling, eating and moving around normally, and record the circumstances in which difficulty occurs. Panting, hiding, altered toileting or reduced appetite can have medical as well as behavioural causes. If a change is sudden, severe or persistent, contact your vet. A home diffuser does not diagnose the problem and is not a substitute for prescribed treatment when that is needed. Tell the vet about every calming product already being used so the overall plan remains clear.

Use only Calmex refill bottles with the Calmex unit. The manufacturer advises replacing the plug-in unit every 12 months, even if you continue buying refills. Do not refill the bottle with household fragrance oils, apply the liquid to the animal or add it to food or water. Check the unit periodically according to the instructions and follow the supplied advice for replacing an empty bottle. Keep a note of the installation date to make replacement easier to plan.

What is included in the starter kit?

The kit contains one Calmex plug-in diffuser unit and one 40ml bottle of calming essential oils. It supplies both components needed to begin using the system. If you already have a suitable Calmex unit, the matching refill is available as a separate product.

Is Calmex a pheromone diffuser?

No. Calmex uses a blend of rose, lavender and chamomile essential oils. It should not be described as a pheromone product. The diffuser is intended to complement behavioural and environmental measures for dogs and cats, with individual responses varying between animals and situations.

Can it be used around dogs and cats?

The manufacturer markets the diffuser for homes with dogs and cats. Follow the product's placement and safety instructions. Ask your vet about use where an animal has a relevant medical condition, and do not assume that instructions also apply to every other household species.

How long does the refill last?

Each refill lasts around 30 days. Check the bottle and follow the replacement instructions rather than relying solely on a calendar date. Use only the matching Calmex refill, and keep the liquid away from food, water and direct contact with pets.

What area does one unit cover?

The stated coverage is up to 70m². Separate rooms, layout and positioning can affect how useful one location is, so follow the supplied instructions. Place the unit in a suitable area where your pet spends time without putting it beside bedding or feeding resources.

This was the first order I have made from vet dispense, very easy to order and quick delivery. I would highly recommend ordering from Vetdispense and I will definitely use again for my dogs probiotic sachets next month. I would suggest vetdispense to have promo/discount codes for customers on general pet goods.
