Pardale-V Oral Tablets - Pot of 100

Pardale-V Oral Tablets - Per Tablet

Pardale-V is a prescription medication used to relieve mild to moderate pain in dogs. It contains two active ingredients, paracetamol and codeine, which work together to provide effective pain management. This medication is commonly used to treat musculoskeletal pain, joint discomfort, and post-operative pain.

Pardale-V is formulated as an oral tablet, making it easy to administer. It is only available with a veterinary prescription and should always be used under veterinary supervision.

How Pardale-V Works

Pardale-V combines two pain-relieving compounds:

  • Paracetamol – A widely used analgesic and antipyretic that reduces pain and fever. It works by inhibiting the production of prostaglandins, chemicals in the body responsible for pain and inflammation. By blocking these chemicals, paracetamol helps reduce pain perception.

  • Codeine – An opioid analgesic that provides additional pain relief by acting on the central nervous system. Codeine binds to opioid receptors in the brain and spinal cord, altering the way pain signals are processed and reducing the sensation of pain.

The combination of these two active ingredients makes Pardale-V effective in managing pain while minimising inflammation and discomfort.

Thyforon 800 (Forthyron) Tablet for Dogs - per Tablet

Thyforon 800 Tablet for Dogs - per Tablet

Thyforon 800 is a prescription medication used to treat hypothyroidism in dogs. Each tablet contains 800 micrograms of levothyroxine sodium, a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone thyroxine (T4). This medication helps restore normal thyroid hormone levels in dogs with an underactive thyroid, supporting their overall health and well-being. Thyforon 800 is designed to be easily administered and provides consistent hormone replacement therapy for dogs diagnosed with hypothyroidism.

How Thyforon 800 Works

Thyforon 800 contains levothyroxine sodium, a synthetic version of the T4 hormone that the thyroid gland naturally produces. In healthy dogs, the thyroid gland regulates metabolism, energy production, and organ function. When a dog has hypothyroidism, its thyroid does not produce enough hormones, leading to various health problems.

Levothyroxine sodium works by supplementing the missing hormone, restoring normal thyroid function. Once administered, the medication is absorbed into the bloodstream and converted into triiodothyronine (T3), the active thyroid hormone. This conversion allows the dog’s body to regulate metabolism, energy levels, skin health, and organ function as it would in a healthy thyroid state.

Epiphen Tablets 60mg - per Tablet

Epiphen Tablets 60mg - per Tablet

60mg Epiphen is a prescription medication used to treat epilepsy in dogs. Each tablet contains 60mg of phenobarbital, a barbiturate that helps control seizures by stabilising electrical activity in the brain.

ORIGINAL VET PRESCRIPTION MUST BE POSTED TO US AS EPIPHEN IS A CONTROLLED DRUG

Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder in dogs that causes recurrent seizures. Epiphen is often prescribed as a long-term treatment to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures. It is widely used as a first-line antiepileptic drug and requires ongoing veterinary monitoring to ensure safe and effective management of the condition.

How Epiphen Works

Epiphen contains phenobarbital, a medication that works by depressing excessive brain activity to prevent seizures. Seizures occur when there is uncontrolled electrical activity in the brain, leading to sudden and unpredictable episodes of convulsions, twitching, or loss of consciousness.

Phenobarbital works by:

  • Increasing the activity of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces nerve excitability.
  • Decreasing nerve impulses that cause seizures.
  • Stabilising brain activity to prevent sudden electrical surges.

Epiphen is absorbed into the bloodstream after administration and reaches therapeutic levels within a few hours. However, it may take several weeks for the full effects to be observed as the body adjusts to the medication.

16mg Reconcile Chewable Tablet for Dogs - Single Tablet

16mg Reconcile Chewable Tablet for Dogs - Single Tablet

16mg Reconcile is a prescription medication used to manage separation-related disorders in dogs. Each tablet contains 16mg of fluoxetine hydrochloride, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) that helps regulate mood and reduce anxiety.

Reconcile is prescribed for dogs experiencing distress when left alone. It is designed to be used alongside behavioural modification therapy to help dogs develop healthier coping mechanisms. This medication can improve a dog's overall well-being by reducing anxiety-driven behaviours.

How 16mg Reconcile Works

Reconcile 16mg contains fluoxetine hydrochloride, an SSRI that increases serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter responsible for regulating mood, emotions, and behaviour. Low serotonin levels can contribute to anxiety, stress, and compulsive behaviours.

Fluoxetine works by preventing the reabsorption of serotonin in the brain, allowing more of the chemical to remain active. This helps stabilise mood and reduce the emotional distress that leads to unwanted behaviours in dogs with separation-related disorders.

Reconcile does not cause immediate changes in behaviour. It takes several weeks for the medication to reach full effectiveness, during which time dogs may gradually show signs of reduced anxiety and improved responses to training.
