Solensia for Cats - 1ml 7mg/ml - Pack of 2

Solensia for Cats - 7mg/ml - Pack of 2

Solensia for Cats is a prescription veterinary medicine used to help control pain associated with osteoarthritis (arthritis) in cats. It is given as a monthly injection by a veterinary professional or at home after training. Solensia is intended for cats that are showing pain-related changes such as stiffness, reduced willingness to jump, reluctance to climb, or reduced interest in play. Many cats with arthritis do not limp, so treatment is often based on the pattern of changes you notice at home alongside your vet’s examination findings.

Solensia is a refrigerated medication - We will send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery using insulated packaging and ice packs. A signature is required on delivery and it must be put straight into a fridge. We cannot guarantee same day dispatch for orders placed after 12pm. VETERINARY PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED.

Osteoarthritis is a long-term condition in which joints become less comfortable and less flexible. Cartilage can wear, the joint capsule can thicken, and tissues around the joint can become sensitive. Cats are skilled at hiding discomfort and they often adapt quietly by moving less. They may choose lower resting places, stop using high shelves, hesitate before jumping onto sofas and windowsills, or take longer routes that avoid climbing. Because these changes can happen gradually, arthritis can be present for some time before it becomes obvious.

Solensia contains frunevetmab, which is a monoclonal antibody. A monoclonal antibody is a targeted protein designed to attach to one specific substance in the body. In this case, Solensia binds to nerve growth factor (NGF). NGF plays an important role in activating and maintaining pain signals. In osteoarthritis, NGF released in and around affected joints can contribute to ongoing pain signalling from the joint to the nervous system. By binding to NGF, Solensia reduces NGF’s ability to activate its receptors and drive pain pathways. This can help reduce pain associated with osteoarthritis and support more comfortable movement.

Solensia works differently from anti-inflammatory medicines such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NSAIDs mainly act by reducing the production of inflammatory mediators. Solensia targets NGF within the pain signalling process. Because it is a monthly injection rather than a daily oral medicine, it can be helpful for cats that are difficult to medicate at home. Your vet will decide whether Solensia is suitable for your cat, and whether any other treatments are needed alongside it.

5mg Librela is an innovative monthly drug for the alleviation of pain associated with osteoarthritis in dogs.

Librela 5mg is a breakthrough solution for dogs suffering from osteoarthritis pain. The treatment effectively relieves discomfort for a whole month, with a safety profile proven through rigorous testing. Librela works uniquely, targeting Nerve Growth Factor (NGF), a significant contributor to osteoarthritis pain, offering a different approach than Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs).

Librela 5mg uses monoclonal antibodies—immune system proteins that neutralise disease-causing molecules—mirroring naturally occurring antibodies. With minimal involvement of liver or kidneys, it’s a gentle option with a minimal gastrointestinal impact, reducing the potential for adverse reactions.

Librela is a refrigerated medication - We will send it via Royal Mail Special Delivery using insulated packaging and ice packs. A signature is required on delivery and it must be put straight into a fridge. We cannot guarantee same day dispatch for orders placed after 12pm. VETERINARY PRESCRIPTION REQUIRED.

Dilaterol Syrup for Horses - 355ml

Dilaterol Syrup for Horses - 355ml

Dilaterol Syrup for Horses is an oral medication used to help horses breathe more freely when a respiratory disease is causing narrowing of the airways. If your horse is coughing, sounding “tight”, or struggling to keep up with normal work, opening the air passages can make a meaningful difference to comfort and everyday energy. Dilaterol for Horses is prescribed when airway obstruction is linked to bronchospasm (spasm and tightening of the small airway muscles) and/or when mucus build‑up is making it harder for air to move in and out. By easing this obstruction, Dilaterol for Horses can reduce the effort of breathing and help your horse settle, eat and rest more comfortably, which owners often notice as a brighter attitude and a greater willingness to move. It is most commonly used as part of a vet‑led plan, alongside changes to stable management, because the day‑to‑day environment often determines how frequently symptoms flare.

5mg Thiafeline Tablet for Cats - per Tablet

5mg Thiafeline Tablet for Cats - per Tablet

5mg Thiafeline is used for the stabilisation of hyperthyroidism in cats prior to surgical thyroidectomy. It is also used for the long-term treatment of feline hyperthyroidism. Thiafeline may be used alone or in combination with methimazole, a sulphur containing thioamide.

Thiafeline 5mg works by preventing the function of a hormone called thyroxine which increases metabolism, leading to clinical signs such as weight loss, increased appetite, hyperactivity and heart failure.

Thiafeline 5mg for Cats is not just about managing the symptoms but also improving the quality of life for affected cats. Hyperthyroidism can be debilitating, impacting your cat’s physical health and behavioural patterns. By effectively reducing the levels of thyroid hormones, this medication helps in stabilising the cat’s metabolism, leading to weight gain and a reduction in the anxiety and restlessness often associated with this condition.

Neptra - Single 1ml Tube

Neptra - Single 1ml Tube

Neptra Ear Solution is a prescription medication used to treat otitis externa (outer ear infection) in dogs. It contains three active ingredients: florfenicol, terbinafine, and betamethasone acetate. These ingredients work together to combat bacterial and fungal infections while reducing inflammation in the ear canal. Neptra is a single-dose treatment, providing effective relief without the need for multiple applications.

What is Otitis Externa in Dogs?

Otitis externa is an inflammatory condition affecting the outer ear canal in dogs. It is a common problem, particularly in breeds with floppy ears or those prone to allergies. The condition can be caused by bacterial or fungal infections, parasites, allergies, excessive moisture, or underlying skin conditions.

If left untreated, otitis externa can progress, leading to chronic discomfort, pain, and potential damage to the ear canal. Early treatment is essential to prevent complications.

Causes of Otitis Externa

Several factors can contribute to the development of otitis externa in dogs. Common causes include:

  • Bacterial infections – Certain bacteria, such as Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas, can cause inflammation and infection.
  • Fungal infectionsMalassezia yeast is a frequent cause of ear infections in dogs.
  • Allergies – Food allergies or environmental allergens can trigger ear inflammation.
  • Excess moisture – Water trapped in the ear after swimming or bathing can create an environment for infections.
  • Ear mites – Parasites such as Otodectes cynotis can lead to irritation and infection.
  • Foreign objects – Grass seeds or debris lodged in the ear canal can cause irritation and infection.

100ml Thyronorm for Cats 5mg/ml Oral Solution

100ml Thyronorm for Cats 5mg/ml Oral Solution

100ml Thyronorm for Cats is a prescription oral solution used to help manage overactive thyroid function in cats.

Thyronorm is supplied as a liquid at a strength of 5mg/ml thiamazole, so each dose can be measured accurately and repeated consistently. This allows your vet to tailor the dose to your cat and to adjust it as blood results change over time. The liquid can be useful for cats that struggle with tablets or need smaller dose changes. Treatment is usually started after hyperthyroidism has been confirmed by a veterinary examination and blood testing, and it may be used either as long‑term medical management or as a way to stabilise a cat before another treatment option.

Thyronorm for Cats is not a general supplement and it should only be used under veterinary direction, because the aim is to reduce thyroid hormone levels into a safe range without pushing them too low.

40mg Libeo Tablets For Dogs - per Tablet

40mg Libeo Tablets For Dogs - per Tablet

40mg Libeo is a prescription-only chewable tablet for dogs. Each tablet contains 40mg of furosemide, a diuretic (water tablet) that helps the body remove excess fluid. Libeo is used to treat oedema (fluid in tissues) and ascites (fluid in the abdomen), particularly when these problems are linked to cardiac insufficiency or congestive heart failure in dogs. Your veterinary surgeon will decide whether Libeo is suitable and will prescribe a dose for your dog’s weight and clinical needs.

Heart failure means your dog's heart is not pumping as effectively as it should. When circulation becomes less efficient, pressure can rise in blood vessels and the body can activate hormone systems that conserve salt and water. The aim is to support circulation, but the side effect can be fluid retention. Extra fluid can then leak from blood vessels and collect in places where it causes symptoms. Fluid may build up in the lungs (leading to coughing or fast, effortful breathing), in the abdomen (ascites), or in tissues (oedema). Reducing this excess fluid can ease breathing, improve comfort, and help dogs tolerate gentle activity.

How 40mg Libeo works

Furosemide is a loop diuretic. It acts in the kidneys, where it reduces the reabsorption of sodium and chloride. Water follows salt, so more water stays in the urine and is passed out of the body. As urine output increases, the volume of fluid in the bloodstream falls. This helps reduce congestion and encourages excess fluid in the lungs, abdomen, or tissues to move back into the circulation so it can be removed. Because furosemide affects salt and water balance, it can also alter electrolytes such as potassium and sodium, so dosing and monitoring matter.

When Libeo may be prescribed

Libeo is commonly used when a dog has signs of fluid retention linked to heart disease. Your vet may prescribe it if your dog has abdominal fluid, visible swelling, or congestion affecting breathing. Libeo is often used alongside other heart medicines, such as pimobendan and ACE inhibitors, depending on the type and stage of heart disease. In some dogs, Libeo is used short term to bring fluid under control. In other dogs, it forms part of longer-term management, with the dose reviewed over time.
