Semintra Oral Solution for Cats - 100ml

Semintra Oral Solution for Cats - 100ml

Semintra 100ml Oral Solution for Cats is a prescription veterinary medicine used to treat systemic hypertension (high blood pressure) in cats. Semintra is specifically formulated to help manage this common but often undetected condition in older cats. The active ingredient in Semintra is telmisartan, a type of angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that helps reduce blood pressure and protect internal organs from damage caused by prolonged hypertension.

Semintra 100ml comes as an oral solution that is easy to administer using the dosing syringe included. It is flavoured to support easier compliance and accurate measurement. Semintra is given once daily and is prescribed by a veterinarian following a diagnosis of hypertension.

What is Hypertension in Cats?

Systemic hypertension in cats refers to an abnormally high blood pressure within the arteries. It is more commonly seen in middle-aged and older cats and is often linked with underlying conditions such as chronic kidney disease (CKD) or hyperthyroidism. In some cases, it may occur without any identifiable cause, a condition known as idiopathic hypertension.

Masivet is a prescription-only tablet for use against Mast Cell Tumours in dogs. Masivet 150mg is regarded as safe enough to be used at home, and is given as a tablet once daily. Not all dogs respond, but results can be very helpful for others. Close supervision by your vet is recommended.

150mg Masivet for Dogs contains an active ingredient called masitinib. This ingredient belongs to a class of medicines with an anti-cancer action. Masitinib is a protein-tyrosine kinase inhibitor, meaning it specifically targets and blocks certain enzymes, particularly the c-kit receptor found on the surface of cells. Some mast cell tumours are associated with a mutation that leads to excessive activity of the c-kit receptor, causing the mast cells to divide uncontrollably. By inhibiting these receptors, Masivet 150mg for Dogs helps control cell division, preventing further development of tumours with this specific mutation.

Palladia - 15mg Palladia Tablets for Dogs - Per Tablet

Palladia - 15mg Palladia Tablets for Dogs - Per Tablet

15mg Palladia for Dogs - Treatment for Canine Mast Cell Tumours

Mast cell tumours, a common type of cancer in dogs, account for a large portion of all canine skin tumours. These malignant growths originate from mast cells, a type of white blood cell. Early detection and proper treatment are vital in managing this condition, and 15mg Palladia for dogs offers a highly effective solution.

Palladia 15mg for dogs works by targeting specific proteins involved in the growth and spread of cancerous cells. The drug inhibits the activity of these proteins, effectively stopping tumour progression. This targeted approach allows 15mg Palladia to attack cancerous cells while sparing healthy ones, minimising overall side effects on your pet.

Pexion 400mg Tablet - per Tablet

Pexion 400mg Tablet - per Tablet

400mg Pexion is a prescription medication used to manage epilepsy in dogs. Each tablet contains 400mg of imepitoin, an antiepileptic drug that helps reduce the frequency and severity of seizures.

Pexion is primarily used to treat idiopathic epilepsy, a common neurological disorder in dogs. It may also be prescribed for dogs suffering from noise phobia, as it has calming effects on the nervous system. Unlike some traditional epilepsy medications, Pexion has a lower risk of liver toxicity and can be a suitable long-term treatment option for many dogs.

How Pexion Works

Pexion 400mg contains imepitoin, a drug that acts on the brain’s neurotransmitters to stabilise electrical activity and prevent seizures.

Seizures occur due to abnormal electrical signals in the brain, causing sudden and uncontrolled movements, loss of consciousness, or behavioural changes. Imepitoin works by enhancing the effects of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), a neurotransmitter that reduces excessive brain activity. By increasing GABA’s calming effects, Pexion helps to suppress abnormal electrical impulses and prevent seizure episodes.

Pexion also has anti-anxiety properties, which make it beneficial for dogs with noise-related anxiety, such as fear of fireworks or thunderstorms.

Thyforon 400 (Forthyron) Tablet for Dogs - per Tablet

Thyforon 400 Tablet for Dogs - per Tablet

Thyforon 400 is a veterinary medication designed to treat hypothyroidism in dogs. It contains levothyroxine sodium, a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), which replaces the deficient thyroid hormone. This condition affects a dog’s metabolism, energy levels, and overall well-being. Thyforon 400 helps restore thyroid hormone levels, alleviating symptoms and supporting normal physiological functions.

Hypothyroidism is a common endocrine disorder in dogs, typically caused by autoimmune destruction of the thyroid gland or idiopathic atrophy. The condition results in a slowed metabolism, weight gain, lethargy, and poor coat quality. Thyforon 400 is a prescription medication and must be administered under veterinary supervision.

How Thyforon 400 Works

Thyforon 400 contains levothyroxine sodium, which acts as a replacement for thyroxine (T4), the hormone normally produced by the thyroid gland. Thyroxine is essential for regulating metabolism, body temperature, cardiovascular function, and skin and coat health.

When a dog has hypothyroidism, the thyroid gland fails to produce sufficient hormones, leading to metabolic slowdown and a range of health problems. By supplementing the missing hormone, Thyforon 400 restores normal metabolic activity. The body converts levothyroxine into triiodothyronine (T3), the active form of the hormone, which supports proper organ function and energy regulation.

5mg/40mg Cardalis Tablet for Dogs - per tablet

5mg/40mg Cardalis Tablet for Dogs - per tablet

5mg/40mg Cardalis Tablets for Dogs

Cardalis 5mg/40mg is a prescription-only tablet used as part of the management of congestive heart failure in dogs. Each tablet contains two active ingredients: benazepril (5mg) and spironolactone (40mg). They work in different but complementary ways to reduce strain on the heart and help control the fluid and pressure changes that can occur with heart failure.

Congestive heart failure in dogs

Congestive heart failure (CHF) describes a stage of heart disease where the heart can no longer pump efficiently enough to meet the body’s needs. When the heart struggles, pressure can build up in blood vessels and the body activates hormone systems that attempt to maintain circulation. These responses can cause the body to retain salt and water and can make blood vessels tighten. Over time, this can lead to fluid accumulation, commonly in the lungs, and it can increase the workload of the heart.

Dogs with CHF may show coughing, faster or more laboured breathing, reduced stamina, restless sleep, reduced appetite, or swelling in the abdomen. Symptoms can vary depending on the underlying heart problem and on where fluid builds up. CHF is a condition that requires ongoing veterinary care, and treatment is usually long term.

How Cardalis works

Cardalis combines an ACE inhibitor (benazepril) with an aldosterone antagonist (spironolactone). Together, they target two key pathways that are often overactive in CHF.

Benazepril works by reducing the production of angiotensin II, a substance that narrows blood vessels and encourages salt and water retention. By reducing angiotensin II, blood vessels can relax and blood pressure can reduce. This can lower the resistance the heart has to pump against, which may improve forward blood flow and reduce congestion. Benazepril can also help limit signals that contribute to fluid retention.

Spironolactone works by blocking the effects of aldosterone. Aldosterone is a hormone that tells the body to hold on to sodium and water. In CHF, aldosterone can remain high and can continue to drive fluid retention. By antagonising aldosterone, spironolactone helps reduce sodium and water retention while conserving potassium. Aldosterone can also influence longer-term changes in the heart and blood vessels, so controlling its effects can be valuable alongside other heart medicines.

Senvelgo for Cats with Diabetes - 12ml

Senvelgo for Cats with Diabetes - 12ml

Senvelgo for Cats is a prescription medication used for the treatment of Diabetes in Cats. It is a once-daily liquid formula that helps regulate blood glucose levels without the need for insulin injections.

LOOKING FOR 30ML SENVELGO? - CLICK HERE

Senvelgo is suitable for cats diagnosed with stable diabetes and is administered orally using the syringe provided. Diabetes in Cats is a chronic metabolic disorder commonly seen in older or overweight cats. It occurs when the body is either unable to produce enough insulin or cannot effectively use the insulin it does produce. Insulin is a hormone necessary for the body to regulate blood sugar (glucose) levels. Without sufficient insulin action, glucose cannot enter the cells properly and begins to accumulate in the bloodstream. This leads to a variety of health issues if not managed appropriately.

How Senvelgo works

Senvelgo works differently to insulin injections. It reduces the reabsorption of glucose by the kidneys. Normally, the kidneys filter glucose and then reclaim most of it back into the bloodstream. Senvelgo reduces this reclaiming effect, so more glucose is passed out of the body in the urine. By increasing urinary glucose loss, blood glucose can fall and diabetic signs can improve.

Because more glucose is present in urine, some effects can follow. Urine volume can increase and thirst can remain increased, particularly early on. Diabetes itself also causes increased thirst and urination, which is why follow-up and testing remain important. Your vet may check hydration and kidney parameters before and during treatment.

Senvelgo contains the active ingredient velagliflozin, a selective sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitor. It works by increasing the amount of glucose excreted in the urine, thereby lowering blood sugar levels. By helping to reduce hyperglycaemia without directly increasing insulin levels, Senvelgo provides an alternative approach to diabetes management in cats.

Senvelgo is not a form of insulin and does not replace insulin in all cases. It is designed for use in cats who are able to maintain stable blood sugar levels without insulin or as advised by a veterinary professional. Its once-daily oral administration makes it a convenient option for pet owners who may find injections challenging or stressful for their cat.

Each 12ml bottle of Senvelgo is supplied with a dosing syringe that allows for accurate administration. The dosage is determined by a veterinarian based on your cat’s weight and specific condition. It is important to follow the dosing instructions carefully to ensure effective management of the disease. Senvelgo should be given directly into the cat’s mouth and not mixed with food or water.
